Pelican Hill Resort

Updated: May 13, 2018

We recently stayed at Pelican Hill, a Forbes 5 Star resort located in Newport Beach, CA. It was a quick getaway so our stay was limited to the weekend. However, the resort was one of the best we have ever stayed at.

REVIEW: An easy 5 Star.s The resort was very clean. We had a bungalow suite. The room was spacious with a fireplace, bose entertainment system, sitting area and a furnished patio. The bathroom had a soaking tub with stand alone shower and a seperate room for the toliet.

The food was good. Our first morning there we had breakfast delivered to the room. For lunch we ate at the grille located at the Club House. For dinner we ate at the restuarant located next to the lobby called Pelican Grille. On our last day, we ate at the Coliseum Grill by the pool for breakfast. We had no complaints for any of our dining experience while at the resort.

I also want to point out that they have a nice cafe & market to get a quick bite to eat or drink.

The concierge had a nice room to go over the resort ammnetities as well as set up activities in and around Newport Beach. They helped us get a duffy boat for the evening.

TIP: Don't pay extra for an "ocean" room. The ocean is so far away it's not worth it. Just get a regular "garden" room.

We used the house car, a Mercedes SUV, to get around the resort so take advantage of that if you go.

THE DAMAGE: Staying at the Pelican Hill set me back $882 per night. This is including tax and the resort fees. However, this did not include any food. I probably spent $300 in food, easaly. I also bought a large boat decoration from the gift shop and they shipped it to my home.
